Cookies.

The public pages of this site, the home page, the capability pages, the contact page, set no cookies of our own except one: if you switch language, that choice is remembered. No advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, no tracking pixels, no profiling. There is a plain page count, and it is built to store nothing on your device at all. There is no consent banner, and that is a claim about what WE place: under the Dutch Telecommunications Act and the GDPR, consent is required for non-essential storage, and we place none. That law looks at who puts something on your device, not at who owns it, so it is worth being exact about the one place where somebody else does. One thing on this site is not ours: the scheduling calendar on the contact page is a frame from a third party, it loads with that page, and it can place its own cookies under its own policy. It is there because booking a call is what the contact page is for; if you would rather not load it, everything else on the site works without ever opening that page, and you can always email instead.

Two narrow, strictly necessary cases of our own, and one that is not ours:

• Language choice: if you switch between English and Dutch, that choice is remembered so the site keeps showing your language. This is a functional preference, not tracking.
• Sign-in (private area only): one strictly necessary session cookie exists inside the private client area, and only if you actually have a login there. It keeps you signed in and is never used to follow you across the web.
• The scheduling calendar (contact page only): a frame from cal.com, loaded together with that page. It is not ours and not strictly necessary, and it can place its own storage under its own policy. Opening the contact page is what loads it.

The site may briefly use your browser's local storage to remember a choice you made, such as your language. This stays in your browser, is not a cookie, and is not sent anywhere for tracking.

We set nothing non-essential, so there is nothing of ours to opt out of. The scheduling calendar on the contact page is the exception, and the way to opt out of it is not to open that page; its own provider handles any choices it offers. You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings; the only visible effect on our side is that your language preference and any sign-in are forgotten.

If a future feature of ours ever needs a non-essential cookie, it will ask for consent first and this statement will be updated before it ships. The same rule applies to any new third party we would embed. Questions go to oliver@higgihq.com.
